Nahdlatul Ulama as the largest Muslim organization in Indonesia is a fact. Yet data needed to prove the claim has not yet been enough because the database of NU has, again and again, yet to be well organized.

Minister of Communication and Information who is also a board member of the East Java's NU Regional Board (PWNU), Muhammad Nuh made the remarks as opening a meeting of NU students throughout Java on Sunday  (1/2) at Nahdlatul Ulama High Institute of Islamic Studies (STAINU) of Bogor.<>

In the meantime Nuh  who was a keynote speaker and delivered his material on how to increase the role of NU in monitoring and guarding the information era said that till now NU had not yet been capable of building such a good organization database.

"In the modern era (of ours) data is a keyword in global association and competition. This must be taken into account by NU," Nuh said.

In addition to stressing the importance of soon building database, Nuh also called on Nahdliyin (NU followers) to deal with a good self-management through personal capacity building. He said through the capacity building NU would have quality in regard with human resources.

"So far NU followers have always been at low levels. It's been time for NU to start moving up to give a brightness to the nation," the ex-rector of the Surabaya's Institute of Technology 10 November (ITS) said.

Nuh also criticized the inferior mentality of NU followers that he called as such a disease capable of disturbing the development of NU. For that reason, he added, NU should have high self-confidence to show its existence to public. (hir)
